Answers:
agreed, other otc drugs that interact (but not excluding others) include saint johns wort, kava kava, 5-HTP, ma huang, pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine, dextromethorphan, SAMe, epinephrine, and yohimbe
C - Chinese food can be high in tyramine. This can enjoy a food-drug interaction with MAOi's, causing hypertensive crisis (very life-threatening).

Patients should avoid processed meats, cheeses, or other foods elevated in tyramine while on these meds because of this possibility.

Edit: While it would be good to know if the patient take OTC meds like cough/cold/decongestants, hypertensive crisis is still probably the most worrisome side effect of MAOi's. Source(s): Pharmacy student
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI) drugs are coutraindicated with Tyramine. Tyramine is concenrated in Soy Sauce. Chinese foods tend to be big in Soy Source(s): Pharmacist: in 34 years of practice, I've not seen a single MAOI prescribed, but teacher love to put this obsolete drug class on exams.
D is correct many OTC meds interact with MAOIs and can create seizures and stuff
