Cerebral+cerebellar=brain?

Answers:
The cerebrum and cerebellum are two parts of the brain, if you want the entire brain though, you might want to include the brainstem as capably. (Diagram: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NIA_hu…
To make up a full brain you inevitability to also add the diencephalon (thalamus and related structures).

Brain = cerebrum+cerebellum+brainstem+ diencephalon.

The brainstem does appear in a brain CT but the resolution is poor. An MRI is the study of choice for looking at brainstem detail.

Edit to Matthew T: The midbrain is the mesencephalon not diencephalon. The lower brainstem is the rhombencephalon and includes the pons, medulla, and cerebellum. The diencephalon is the thalamus and related structures.
Hi!

To make up a brain, you will need a Cerebrum (Telencephalon), Cerebellum, Midbrain (Diencephalon), and Brainstem (Mesencephalon).

In imaging studies of the brain, a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used for anatomical details, while a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scan is used for physiologic and functional details. Source(s): Neuroscientist.
