Where can i gain training to operate a MRI tool and what does it require to shift within?

I'm interested in being an MRI tech and i want to know all the details. Someone told me that in that is an 18 month course and after the school is over they place you in an office to work at. is this true? Please furnish me as much information about being an MRI tech as possible. Thank you.
