Do you reflect I'll know how to errand shadow an RN for a year?
I just graduated high university and am going to college for nursing. I want to job shadow a hospital RN for a day to get the feal. Should I lately call the hospital and ask or what? Also, who would I want to speak to about it? I just really want to win a good idea of what I'm up for...

That would probably be up to the nurse and hospital administrator. Usually, when you volunteer you get to see the life span of a RN at work if you pay attention. Tell the hospital that you want to be a future nurse and you want to make sure that its the right decree by shadowing a nurse for a day. The hospital probably would say yes but if it doesn't work then try a different hospital. Be really convincing and plan out the conversation formerly hand because you don't want to look like a idiot and be like you know"uhhhhhhhhh" to shadow a nurse. Wait a moment ."Uhhhhhhh" ok. No that doesn't work you merely sound like a loser and probably get turned down. Be confident and they'll allow you to shadow a RN for a morning. Source(s): knowledge
I would recommend speaking with the Director of Nursing in the Nursing Office, and explain your request. Make sure you explain to him/hre that you understand that you might not be able to observe everything an RN does because of tolerant privacy concerns. You should have an idea of what setting you would like to consider -- since nurses work in the OR, critical care, medical-surgical wards, rearing, etc. Best bet probably would be to follow someone on one of the med-surg units, and/or one of the outpatient clinics. I would also recommend that you show up in person near your request, looking very professional (no jeans, tee shirt, flip-flops). You may be redirected to one of the assistant director, which would be fine. We are other looking for motivated bright people to become RNs. Best of luck to you.
