When something makes a noise, it sends vibrations, or sound breakers, through the air.
The human eardrum is a stretched membrane, like the skin of a drum. When the sound top hit your eardrum, it vibrates and the brain interprets these vibrations as sound.

After the vibrations hit your eardrum, a chain reaction is set sour. Your eardrum, which is smaller and thinner than the nail on your pinky finger, sends the vibrations to the three smallest bones in your body. First the hammer, consequently the anvil, and finally, the stirrup. The stirrup passes those vibrations along a coiled tub in the inner ear called the cochlea.
Inside the cochlea within are thousands of hair-like nerve endings, cilia. When the Cochlea vibrates, the cilia move. Your brain is sent these messages (translated from vibrations by the cilia) through the auditory impudence.

It's more complecated then the eye. Basicly u have sound side (what ever those are) hitting ur ear drum. This is connected to a set of bonnes that transmits the waves to a looped cavity. The walls have hair approaching things that captures them and makes tem into nerve signals, going to a node and later the brain (mostly to the left and right sides). Its very omplicated b/c depending on how fat the breakers move and stuff inside the cavity deturmines the ptich and volume. U'll have to go to a biology or psychology book for indepth info.
