Is 10MG of Oxycontin a Strong distress reliever?

I was recently prescribed nucynta. it is a new discomfort reliever on the market that is said to have alike potency as 10MG of oxycontin. So far it is doing nothing for my severe back pain (car coincidence & chronic). I am 6'3" and 230 pounds.
Answers:
I can imagine that it might not work. Nucynta (Tapentadol) is basically a super charged Tramadol. Both have antidepressant activities (which can help pain) but Nucynta has significantly more opiate action at the mu opioid receptor, where on earth morphine acts.

OxyContin (Oxycodone) is just a simple centrally acting semi-synthetic opiate analgesic with approximately like peas in a pod "power" as Morphine.

10 mg of OxyContin is a small dose so you might not be on an appropriate equivalent. On the other hand, there might not be exact equivalents due to the different actions of the drug. And culture are different, you might need more to have the same effect as the OxyContin.

If the OxyContin be working I would switch back. And I would think the Nucynta would be extremely expensive. Source(s): I am a medical student with a specialist amount (Hons.
