Admission Committee, why?
hi, i live outside the US and just wondering ,
why does studying medicine there requirement an Admission committee?
i mean, if a person fails several test they kick him out,
& if he passes with "A"s he proves himself pious for the career
so what is the committee for?
and is it only for medicine?

There are a limited number of spaces for students in American medical school. These coveted spaces each have many more applicants than can take a seat, all of whom will have excellent qualifications. If entry is base only on GPA's or MCAT scores each form would be oversubscribed. The admissions committee attempts to select the best candidates based on new more subjective criteria. Once admitted, the dropout rate is very low.
Regarding the statement " if a person fail several tests they kick him out" can not be utilized because there isn't adequate space to accept all who would wish to attend.
Medicine is not the only learned program that uses a committee; I would guess that most schools do, actually. It is so they can gauge the so-called "soft" skills of the applicant; grades and standardized try-out scores can only say so much (not to mention that grades aren't really comparable across institutions). Using your example of tablets, would you having the right sort of personality is just as far-reaching as your ability to take a test. That's why they hold in-person interviews, to reduce the probability of admitting a genius sociopath (or a pretentious tremble, for that matter). A committee would be used to make sure that any one person doesn't have an undue say aloud about who gets in and who does not, which make the process more fair.
The admission committee is there to decide who gets surrounded by in the first place. More people apply for medical school contained by any given year than there are places for them, and there are more qualified candidates than places, too. They can't purely take everyone and then wait to see who wash out.
The admissions committee has the not-very-enviable task of trying to establish who, at a very early stage in their tuition, is going to make a good doctor later on. They be in motion through grades, MCAT scores, experience with volunteering and working in research or hospitals, the interviews...anything they have to go on. They try. They make some mistakes, obviously--not everyone who get in makes it through.
