I'm an EMT who deal with chest pain complaints frequently. Chest pain is a complex complaint to diagnose and determine the impose, so, frankly, I wouldn't trust any quick answers people give you here.
Important determinants include your age, femininity, severity of pain, what the pain felt resembling, associated symptoms (nausea, lightheadedness, etc.), history of recent travel, medical conditions, and much more.
Chest pain is a serious complaint and you should contact your primary care physician or go to the ER to be examined.
Possibilities include everything from a mere muscle strain to a pulmonary embolism (blood clot contained by your lungs) to angina to a myocardial infarction. Again, do not trust anyone willing to give you a quick answer nearly this given the small amount of information you presented us with as medical diagnoses are very complicated. Source(s): NREMT
