Acute ilnesses for my vigour project.?

I need to do a presentation on an acute illness. I've already done Lung Cancer and Parkinsons disease and don't really want to do these again. Can anyone give me some philosophy for an acute illness that I could do for my final project.
Answers:
Infection near MRSA or C.difficile?
Depression? It can be acute in some cases but not sure if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.
