depends on your problem or pain. if you need a milder pain reliever that does not involve anything that's swollen, dance w/ tylenol. anytime there's swelling, go w/ advil or motrin. it's better cuz it tends to last longer too. for frenzy, you can usually do tylenol every 4 hrs. i'm not a doctor so ask them to be sure. it all depends on what it's for. Not being a doctor, but from personal experience, you can in reality switch the two every four or six hours and not overdose. The Advil website says that in studies their liquid gel are faster than Tylenol extra strength. Source(s): www.advil.com
