Is It medical malpractice for a DR. to prescribe oxys for years and quit suddenly?
My Dr. has been prescribing me oxycodone for over 6 years, all I enjoy done is follow his orders by the book, now he has stopped and my mind and body are falling to pieces,is this court for him to put me into such a HUGE SHOCK?

You were on pain medicine for 6 yrs? I bet your body is going into shock. He did not try easing you past its sell-by date the medication? Or prescribe you anything else? You need to call your Dr. and telling him how your consciousness, he can prescribe something to take away that shock that might not be as strong as what you were taking!
Regarding Malpractice, you need to speak with an attorney about that one!

It is legal for him to stop any time he pleases. You are pretty much at his disposal. Usually doctors stop when they realize someone is hooked on pain meds which is fundamentally easy to fix. He does need to prescribe you something for the withdrawl symptoms though. Suboxone and nausea medication such as promethazine or zofran should do the trick. You should definately talk beside him.
Not necessarily. There must have been a reason to stop the meds. Withdrawl from opioids is not life-threatening. Just completely unpleasant. I agree that there might be more to the story.
I guess the question is why did your doctor stop adjectives of a sudden? Oxycodon can be very addictive and this can be compounded if you are still having pain. If anything, your doctor should hold known some of this before forcing you to go cold turkey. If you reflect your symptoms are related to being off codone...go pay for to your doctor and tell him/her and maybe you need assistance kicking!
I'm guessing there's more to this story than you're letting on.
If you have pain issues, see if you can get a referral to a distress management specialist.
