What helpful of prescription would your doctor furnish you?

if you were really anxious about a long plane trip? specially if you are already a person who have anxiety/depression problems? how do you ask your dr. for them? do you just say, "hey im flying to europe, its a long flight, over the ocean, i dream up i will probably be really nervous/have anxiety attacks?"
Answers:
A friend of mine had a similar problem and his doctor gave him a prescription for ativan (lorazepam) 1mg. So you could ask your doctor about that and see what he think about it. Just don't take more than 1 at a time.
they will most likely prescribe a barbituate, like xanax or possibly ativan for this type of anxiety. also, i hold seen them prescribe valium for this, as well as klonopin. none of these should really be taken long-term, but they are very influential short-term, so the doc will usually prescribe something of this sort for flight anxiety. just tell them that you are a very fretful flyer and need something to loosen you up...just level next to your doc and he will probably help you. most doctors, though this isnt a good thing, will write you a RX for doesn`t matter what you "self-diagnose" for the most part, so just tell him what you want. My step-mother has that exact problem, and her doctor gives her Xanax for plane trips. She just tell the doctor she is going to travel and she gives her a prescription.
Xanax is not a barbiturate, its a benzodiazepine. You should study harder, pharmacy intern. A short acting benzo like lorazepam (ativan) or alprazolam (xanax). Or, a beta-blocker resembling propranolol on occasion.
