Should I pinch Benzonatate (aka. Tessalon Perles) for cough brought on by sharp reflux/GERD?

I have been having this dry cough for several years in a minute, there is no phlegm accompanying the cough, and the coughs almost always start at the end of a teatime. Would it help to take Benzonatate (aka. Tessalon Perles) for this cough? What are the side effects, if any?
Answers:
It would not benefit you to take this medication. Benzonatate is used more for a producing cough to draw from that crap out of your lungs. It's not going to hurt you, but it does increase heart rate and therefore blood pressure. You may also have trouble sleeping at night because of the increased heart rate, if you rob it, I would suggest in the morning.
