Urinary tract infection............?

I believe I may have acquired a UTI. Since I do not have a regular house doctor I am unsure of my next step. I found some nephrology doctors in my area. Can I a short time ago call and schedule an apointment with these type of doctors or would I call for a referal?
Answers:
a nephrologist is a doctor that specializes in kidney disease. If you have a urinary tract infection a general practitioner should know how to take care of you.
You really can go anywhere. With no primary care doc, your best bet would just be to walk to a minute clinic --which are available at many stores like Target, or grocery stores, or drugstores like CVS-- or some type of urgent assistance clinic (just look-up "urgent care" in your local yellow pages). You can even just budge to the ER if you want to, but it will likely cost you the most and your wait will be longer than elsewhere.

Really, you can go pretty much anywhere and find some antibiotics to clear it up pretty quick. Just don't wait long, because the bacteria can spread into your system and you can grasp pretty sick!!
A general practitioner is all you need...don't difficulty, if you don't get treated right away you can get a kidney infection and things can get worse efficient.
