Is the 17th edition of "Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine" worth it?
I'm an MS3. I'm debating whether to buy a new near-new copy of the 17th edition for $115, or to buy a brand-new copy of the 16th edition for $50.
Are there any major differences between the two? Is the 17th edition worth the extra $65?

The 16th edition is five years prehistoric. If it were one year more recent I would get it. If you are going to buy a harrison's then receive one less than 5 years old.
It depends on a number of factor. If you intend to go into adult community medicine, or into a area where you will see mainly adults patients with non-surgical problems, you will use your Harrison frequently throughout residency, and possibly for a few years into practice. In such a case, I'd recommend the most recent edition.
