Is nearby any set corrective surgery for blindness surrounded by relation to methanol poisoning?
Even if it's just current testing going on in labs or trial runs near animals, I just need to know if it's possible or even plausible at least.

This poisonous liquid alcohol destroys tissue, but I believe there are plastic procedures to re-erect the damage done that way. I write down names here or anything, but I placed a contact to a website specialized on surgeries that might be interesting to you.
Kind regards! Source(s): http://www.surgery.com
No. Not at this time. Methanol, and specifically formic acid derived from methanol metabolism is significantly toxic to the nerves that form the optic track. Once damaged, these types of tissues do not easily regenerate but it depends where along the optic street the damage occurred. I hope this is a theoretical/academic question. I own seen several cases of methanol poisoning and it's never good. Source(s): I am a forensic psychopharmacologist, research scientist, author and taught neuropharm for plentiful years. Specialization in toxic alcohols.
At this point I the simply plausible treatment for Optic Atrophy (Neuropathy) would be through some type of stem cell implant. I don't believe there is even any particular research one done in that area.
Probably not, methanol poisoning destroys tissue.
