Both NSADIS and steroids are anti inflammatory drugs . I've been on steroids for more than 10 yrs presently and they can s;low down your immune system which fights off diseases,. NSAIDS can also be a problem for patients with stomach ulcer or things of hat nature because they can cause internal bleeding.
NSAID's, especially aspirin have antiplatelet effects and reduce blood clotting. Because the blood can not clot as very well the risk of major bleeding increases. Even low dose aspirin doubles the risk of major bleeding. Drugs like Plavix (clopidogrel) which are much stronger antiplatelet class drugs also must be stopped due to matching risk.
