How long does a colonoscopy help yourself to?

Answers:
start to end......30 minutes............
Less than two hours, but you won't know, as they will probably give you "twilight" anesthesia. You will be very hungry when done, so plan on have takeout or something soon after you get home.
Depends on the colon, and the physician doing the procedure.

The guy I work with averages about 15 minutes, but we've had patients full of polyps that enjoy had procedures go over an hour. That's rare, though.

Other physicians may cart longer. Some in the hospital where I work are known to be markedly slow. Source(s): I anesthetize patients for colonoscopies, about 500/yr.
