What would the generic name be for these antibiotics?

augmentin and ceclor. like is it penicillin and something else?
Answers:
The first is amoxicillin and clavulanate, the second cefaclor.
BB has get it just right.

Just put Augmentin and Ceclor since all doctors and nurses have to know the generic and brand name of the drugs. So when you write the brand name (even if you took the generic of it) they will understand what it was. Source(s): Family Practice
Augmentin = amoxicillin and clavulanate. Amoxicillin is in the penicillin class of antibiotics. Clavulanate is something that protects the amoxicillin from something called beta lactamases which are produced by lots bacteria.

Ceclor = cefaclor, which is in the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. Source(s): Pharmacy student
