I a short time ago stopped taking zoloft pretty much out of the blue is it disadvantageous to me? and what are some side effects?
Its been about two weeks since i was prescribed zoloft for depression and that time my doctor also prescribed me another prescription for adhd
but told me to wait at least two weeks before starting the medication for it. Between these bygone couple of weeks i haven't really been too consistent at the time of day i would take it and i forgot probably something like two days inconsistently, however, the past two days i stopped taking because two days ago i started the adhd medication and that seemed to have help me a lot. So i think i'm not really depressed cuz with zoloft it didn't really appear to make a difference except i think i may a little moirritableble and moody immediately. So i guess my real question is if its alright that i stopped taking it or should i continue contained by smaller doses to get rid of it or is it already out of my body?
Answers:
If you have only be taking the medication inconsistently for two weeks, even if it is not the best decision, stopping the medication will not have harmful physical effects. This medication works by inhibiting the serotonin re uptake inhibitors within your brain, thus creating the artificial effect of an increased serotonin level. SSRI’S take at least 6 weeks or more to hold any effect. In no way will it be an immediate change. If adhd medication make you feel better, you probably don’t have adhd. These medications put together everyone feel better. Bottom line- stopping the Zoloft won’t really harm you, but there have not been enough elapsed time for the medication to have any profound effect. The best entry to do would be to take both medications as prescribed by your doctor. Source(s): You should ask your doctor about this because, I am not one- but.
