Nocturia, Proteinuria, sharp flank strain, dizziness?
My wife isn't sure what's wrong - she's been going frequently (urine) at night, occasionally has dizziness and flank aching (occasionally), and has had small amounts of protein in her urine since she be a child. Several doctors have checked her and treated her for UTI before but the symptoms continue and enjoy been going on for a few months. The dizziness has been going on merely for a few days, but I am not sure if that is related to the issue. Any thoughts on what may cause these symptoms? I'm a BSN and so far I am stumped as well.

Since you're BSN, easier then.
U mentioned something, she frequently have proteinuria as a kid.
Any possibility CGN (chronic glomerulonephritis)? And the dizziness could be a sign of renal failure?
Due to the "sharp flank pain", pls exclude renal calculi, polycystic RD.
JVP? Oedema? Pyrexia? Do BUSE, eGFR. Complete blood count. This is the highest possibility.
To arrive a concise diagnosis, I'm sure you know need other notes, age, medical history...
No diagnosis is conceivably possible given the tiny amount of information supplies. If the problem urinary problem is chronic and have previously been investigated it may well be totally unrelated to her current dizziness.
Concern deeply means a PROPER medical consultation, not fruitless conjecture. Source(s): GP for more years than I care to remember
