Since this answer is 23 hours after you've posted the question, you should be knock out for a couple hours by now. Melatonin is a sleep inducer which works by stimulating the "sleepy hormones" in your pituitary gland. 6mg sounds like profusely if you're taking it for the first time. If that's the case, don't worry about your strength, although you will feel a weird "light-headedness" in the morning, and you might lose your harmonize for a sec, but nothing serious. I dunno about mixing it with alcohol, but judge from your excellent spelling, I don't think you should be alarmed.
Only thing that would probably suck though, is if you get up surrounded by the middle of the night for whatever reason, you will be really unstable, almost like a zombie, so try to sleep the whole way through. Source(s): I've taken it for a few months during my "bodybuilding days". My blood pressure would fluctuate, and I've suffer some serious insomnia because of my workouts. Melatonin did the brief.
Definitely not a good idea to take more than the recommended dosage.
What i do know going on for Melatonin is that it's primary function is to help induce sleep. I'm unsure of any metabolic functions it may serve. From a purely neurological point of view mixing melatonin and alcohol doesn't seem close to it would promote a healthy sleep pattern or cycle as they both induce sleep in different ways.
I don't really know if you find this information pertinent but when you leak asleep under the influence of alcohol you don't go through the sleep cycles normally.
Melatonin is instinctively synthesized in the body when your pupils dialate to let more light into the eye when you're contained by a dark room.
Again melatonin is naturally but i wouldn't recommend taking it for over a month without consulting your doctor.
Also on a side write down:
If you're taking melatonin as a dietary suppliment it doesn't seem like the best course of action because of Melatonins partiality to make us feel sleepy. I do happen to know that if you run to sleep after eating a large meal resembling dinner or lunch your body will store all of the energy it gets from those meal i.e fat.
I would consider switching to a different dietary suppliment if that's what you're using melatonin for.
I don't think it is very dodgy and you should be fine if it is a one off, but it is not recommended to take that much on a regular spring.
By some alcohol, I presume a small amount. Source(s): www.ibeatinsomnia.com/melatonin
