Will my POP still work as im on antibiotics [penicillin]?

I'm on the POP [progesterone only pill] Cerazette and wondering whether it would still work whilst i'm on a course on penicillin for my Glandular fever. I've been told that one of the benefits of POP's is that plentiful common antibiotics do not affect it.

Does anyone know?

Thats right. Penicillin won't prevent progestogen only pills from working, this is because POPs are not dependent upon gut bacterial flora for their absorption, so not artificial by antibiotics. Source(s): Registered Nurse
