Taking xanax sublingualy?

i have been prescribed xanax .5 mg - 1 or 2 pills every 8 hours... i have read that if you dissolve the tablet )though gross tasting) underneath your tounge, rather than just swallowing, it will have better effects.. anyone know anything going on for this?

"Better effects?" Why would you want "better effects?" Just take the medicine the way it's prescribed. If you're trying to attain high, take more, what's the issue?
Works faster that way. The desired effect will be duplicate, though.
