Will my Doctor endow with me Tramadol for Anxiety/Depression.?
Do you think my doctor would understand me if I told her I have be taking Tramadol for over 5 yrs now to take the edge bad? I don't drink, smoke, or abuse any drugs. I use Tramadol to give me a sense of well individual. Anti depresents just make me a zombie and more depressed. They don't help me at adjectives. I'm also taking Adderall for help with my ADHD. I trust my doctor though, but can I open up to her and put in the picture her about my Tramadol abuse? I only lift 4 a day. 100mgs in morning and in evening. Don't draw from me wrong, I could stop anytime, but Tramadol just makes life so much easier. What should I do?

Tramadol (Ultram) is actually a non-narcotic backache reliever and no, it will not help you with anxiety or depression. What it does is release cell activity within your brain so that it helps your body to cope with pain. Don't verbs about your usage. It is not habit forming, but if your brain is sending you a message of well-being, continue taking it. It may work on you differently.
I think Tramadol is meant for relieving pain and severe misery. You should talk to your doctor about using it for anxiety/depression; there is expected an alternative that is better. Lorazepam, the generic for Ativan, is a good one for taking the edge past its sell-by date but, it is addictive so it should not be abused or over used. Your doctor will know what is best for you regarding your health and history. Source(s): Common sense.
Although I don't agree with you taking non-prescribed drugs, I don't believe your doctor would understand.
You might ask her for lorazapam. It is inexpensive, and does what you have need of....take the edge off minus making you a zombie.
Tramadol is used mainly in veterinary medicine. My dog get it for pain. Source(s): dad and husband both mds.
Best friend a vet.

You read aloud you don't abuse drugs, but you are taking a drug for an indication that it isn't licensed for-I' afraid that does qualify as drug abuse. The dose that you are taking is high and the sort of dose needed for the control of severe misery. Tramadol can cause drug dependency similar to codeine type painkillers. When you take it to relieve anxiety, you are relying on its side effects of somnolence-it makes family a little dopey and relaxed and sleepy and that's why you feel it takes the border off.
Can you really stop anytime? If you've been taking it that long I doubt it. You've come to depend on it psychologically and probably physically by now. There are extremely few studies looking at the long term effects of tramadol because its not meant to be prescribed long term.
There are other drugs available for the treatment of anxiety and depression, but these shouldn't be taken surrounded by association with tramadol as the side effects could be very harmful. You have need of to stop taking it and look at other ways of dealing with your problems. Cognitive behavioural therapy, for example, is very honest for anxiety to teach you ways to deal with your excited distress. Source(s): I'm a doctor
