How is PCR used contained by preimplantation genetic diagnosis?

I know that PCR is used to amplify the DNA that is taken from the embryo, but I don't understand how this can tell you if the child will own a genetic condition or not.

Thanks.
Answers:
PCR only amplifies those segments that match the genetic verbs. If you know the abnormality for which you are searching, you create the probe to pair against the abnormality. If the abnormality is elsewhere, nothing happens; if it's present, the PCR works and you get amplification.
