or when your heart rate is up and sweating? how does it balance out or work is it to do with the fight or flight response?

does it affect blood and oxygen getting to muscles and produce muscle twitching, cramps, colds not only at the time but after and in general form?

Not like that. People who are hyperventilating (and that isn't the same item as a panic attack, though there's a good bit of overlap) have plenty of oxygen. What they do is blow bad too much carbon dioxide, resulting in a metabolic alkalosis. So the pH, instead of a nice normal 7.40 or so, can go to 7.55 or 7.60 temporarily. The alkalosis cause a shift in calcium ions, and that's what causes the paresthesias and cramps.

Finally you want to do anything you can to transport your mind off of the panic attack. Talk to a friend, play a game, monitor some funny videos on youtube, just try to find something to take your mind sour of your panic attack. So in short:

1. Identify the signs of panic attacks
2. Remind yourself that nouns attacks can't harm you.
3. Take you mind off of the panic attack.
