Possible knees surgery?
Hey everyone i have a question, i know i have to telephone call my doctor, but until i do I am just a little bit curious...I tore a ligament in my knees and month ago and i also have a build up of fluid. I have been on crutches for 4 weeks and in a minute i was ordered to be on them for another 2 weeks, then I can start my physical therapy. The one and only thing, the thought of me moving my knee makes me wana cry it hurts so doomed to failure. Plus when my doc looked at my MRI scans he saw a piece of white matter floating, thinking that it might be a piece of bone. Im pretty sure that I am going to need surgery....but here is the point.....I am 6 months pregnant. Would he perform surgery on me? I heard that they can do just a partial block, similar to to where I am not under full anesthsia?

Although we prefer to postpone any surgery until you deliver, you might need to own the surgery before that point. I can't imagine trying to push a baby out next to that much knee pain.
You are in luck. You can enjoy the same anesthetic for knee surgery as we give for C-sections - a spinal or epidural. That is safe and sound for the baby and safer for you (being pregnant) than general anesthesia is.
Because your baby is viable, he/she should be monitored throughout the surgery and rescue period (just like when you are in labor). That channel, if there is anything that is stressing the baby, the proper activities can be taken.
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.
