Who would you believe urologist or radiologist?

I had a CT scan today to see if a 3mm kidney stone had passed.( I have have 22 in 2 years) The urologist said he read the CT and saw nothing but was still waiting on the radiologist to read it but that he have read thousand of CT scans and "hasn't missed one yet" well my brother who is an er doc just pulled up the report and the radiologist said "3 mm stone within right ureter with moderate blockage" so who to believe? Should I call him and tell him my brother read me the report or hang around and see? I'm afraid it will just go into my file.
Answers:
Get the scan again! its the only way to be sure and usually this depends on the individual, not the type doctor! though radiology specialize in reading scan, a urologist also are very competent in reading scans surrounded by this area... trust your brother!
Would your brother get within trouble for reading the report? If not then call, as this is your health we're discussion about here. If you don't want to involve your brother, then wait a few days and if you've hear nothing, call the radiologist and ask for his findings. Don't worry too much because if the radiologist have written that there is a 3mm stone, he's not going to file that away and forget about you, he'll be contained by touch.
I would believe the radiologist because reading scan, xrays and the like are their main specialty. day surrounded by and day out, that's all they do. Ive seen so frequent specialists like neurologists, urologists, etc that have missed things on scans especially if its not that in full view but most of these were caught by the radiologist. at the very least ask nearly additional testing if you want to be sure
You may get the scan again. Sometimes due to chemical/enzyme or technical source it may happen a erratic report.
Radiologist & Urologist both are very competent in reading scan in this area. They are specialist. Is your brother a specialist?
