Is urine color determined from how it looks contained by the toilet or a container?

I've been reading info on the web about urine color within regards to dehydration. But it never says whether to determine that from what's in the toilet or how it looks surrounded by a container. Do you know which the information most likely refers to, and what color should it be in a container? Thanks!
Answers:
Determined by how the urine looks in a container. It will be much lighter when it is diluted near the water in the toilet. In general, the dark yellow your urine is the more dehyrated you are. It should be a pale yellow.
