Head transplant/aging grill?

Hypothetically speaking, if an 80 year old man decided to have his boss transplanted on a 20 year old's body (it has been successfully done on dogs and monkeys), would the man live a long time because of the youthful and vibrant body, or will the age of his head/brain effect him to die of natural causes?

Alternatively, if an 80 year old man be given the heart of a 25 year old marathon champion contained by a transplant procedure, would he live much longer? Not sure if the answer to either question would be different.

Sorry more or less the stupid question, but I'm a little fuzzy on how a person exactly dies by organic causes (what occurs in the body when this happens).
Answers:
Most of the body's tissues store up irreparable damage as we age. Just transplanting the heart would not reverse the damage to the rest of the body. Similarly, transplanting the brain (still not possible, and have NOT been done in animals; the spinal cord can't be reconnected) would not reverse the aging of the brain - you'd have a 20 year mature body with an 80 year old brain and all that brain's problems. The body would live on a long time, but the brain would verbs to deteriorate. Source(s): I'm a physician.
