Should i pursue the M.D or Ph.D.(Theoretical Pharmacology)?
I know that the Ph.D is far more difficult in terms of IQ requirement, original tough component and critical analysis but the M.D is infested beside lots of route and direct memorization which i personally detest and does not have an emphasis on critical thought.
On the other foot M.D s make 2-3 times what a pharmacologist (M. scientist that studies effect of drugs on biological systems)does financially wise. I really want something intellectually challenging and I love biochemical research, But the M.D back patients and earn 200K easily, im really at difficult cross-roads, what are your thoughts?

Additionally i view M.D/PhD program to be fundamentally worthless, i believe firmly that you either DEDICATE yourself to clinical practice or to imaginary -research science, (In which case the two degrees will be mutually exclusive given 1 sole profession as one of them losses significance, depending on your preferential choice)

Your landscape on MD/PhD is wrong. Get with the times, man. Almost no one is purely theoretical or purely clinical anymore. We live surrounded by a world of "translational medicine," and that means walking the line between suggestion and practice.

dont think in the order of the cash you will be making. it is important to be doin what u like doin otherwise you wont be capable of last the test of time. if i was you i would choose the Ph.D and thats what im currently doing. that for the certainty that i prefer research and dont particularly working with patients. this is a decision that u will enjoy to make your self and nobody can make it for u, otherwise u risk being within a job u hate for the rest of your life. dont rush into an big question like this
