Do I Stand a Chance at Getting into Imperial or Nottingham University?

I really want to study Medicine at on of these med schools, i know it sounds cliched but ive wanted to since before i can remember..
At GCSE rank i achieved:
Maths - A
English Language - B
English Literature - A
I.C.T - A
Religious Studies - A
Product Design - A
French - A
Core Science - A
Additional Science - A
Geography - A

I don't have any A*'s, would this be hurtful to my chances?
Please, honest answers just. Thanks.

You always own a chance. Even if you dont get the grades there is other a chance to apply through clearing.

Contact the universities directly. Ask them about their policy and enrollment level and discuss clearing with them.

Good luck!
The truth would be that it has little or no effect for getting into upright universities. Unless your planning to go to Oxford or Cambridge who also require outstanding GCSE & A level results afterwards your okay. Imperial College doesn't even ask for straight A's at A level, one b is acceptable along with A's from what i know. You didn't attain anything below a B which is something to be proud of. A level results are what universities look for,to get into A level you needed the passes which makes everything fine. Try and do some extra work like volunteering or experience to push up your likelihood of getting in. Good luck, answer mine? Source(s): AS student & Friend who goes imperial college
It's much more to do with your A-levels, personal statement, BMAT UKCAT performance and interview. I'm at imperial my gcses were adjectives A's and A*s and so are the vast majority of people in my year, I don't know something like Nottingham, but that's as competitive. Don't worry though, your GCSEs look great, focus on the other things I listed. Get plenty of work experience, extra curriculars, volunteering, good A horizontal results, and let's hope you have good aptitude for the BMAT lol.
Unis dont look at your GCSE results really
they more focus on A Levels
but by them grades you seem like a smart entity just work hard!
im going A levels at the moment im contained by my 2nd year
its Hard!
good luck! im sure you will get in :)
Those GCSE results of fine, in a minute you just need to concentrate on getting three A grade A-levels and some relevant work experience. Source(s): Cardiac Nurse
