A really simple press for a pharmacist?

Hi, I'm taking a pharmacology class. I just wanted to ask a question.I entail some help. Here's It:
If ever something is wrong with the
1.liver but not the kidneys
2.kidneys but not the liver
3.liver and kidneys
will this affect the drug dose of someone? Please explain why. That's all.
Answers:
obviously the dosages would be artificial because both are filtering organs and the amount of time that a drug would take to leave the system would be directly artificial by the loss of function of one or both of these organs.
peace
Ok if I am getting this correctly you want to know if the dose of a medication will translation based on weather or not there are problems with the kidneys or liver. The answer to this press is yes and no. The type of medication, the weight of the pt and the problem will determine the dosage of medication. The medication is broke down and filtered through the kidneys and liver the ability of the body to do this determines the dose of the medication. Of course there are aslo meds that can not be taken with kidney or liver damage.
I'm sorry. I have no idea what this quiz is even asking, sorry.
Dose adjustment will depend on the drug. Drugs can be removed by both, either, nor neither of the kidney or liver. Look at a drug monograph, and you will notice in that is a dose adjustment section. Some will say is the kidney function is below a certain point you should diminish the dose. Some talk about liver function. Source(s): pharmacy student
The dosage and the medication adjectives depends on the individual persons health. Since the liver does the biggest job of the 2 I'll start near. If someone has a problem with the liver then adjectives doses and medications, even OTC need to be known by adjectives doctors. This is because of the function of the liver itself. Then if you have someone with problems in both the answer remains equal with some differences. They both are filtering systems too. The liver being factor of the digestive system that aides in the digestion of solids. The kidneys filter more liquid waste from our body. If both of these systems be impaired anyone might be prone to want holistic medicine tried before conventional. There are reliable things like antibiotics that can be used if needed do to the broad spectrum we have today too.. The other thing is that the liver can rejuvenate unlike any other organ contained by our body and we can live with only one kidney, so take those into perspective too. I ponder you can take it from here. Good luck and God Bless Source(s): nursing experience
Real pharmacists do NOT come to YA to answer questions.
Anyone claiming to be one is lying.

Go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist.

Yes. The liver and kydneys hold two different roles: whereas thekidneys are 'filtering' the fluids, the liver produces all the phamacology to process all what we ingest, among other things. It also have a function, which is the production of blood, but up to a convinced age.

Some medications are a real problem for the kidneys - not only because of their composition - but also because of their dosage; the more pharma contained by your body, the more the kidney has to work to clean the body, and so forth...

Medication that can affect the liver is dangerous because it may disrupt the production of "enzimes" which are responsible for the regulation of other major functions such as the absortion of Fe into the body, etc The use of steroids conceals this.

The liver has more than 200 known functions...No wonder David said "in an awsome, concern inspiring way I am magnificently designed"..

And he was no doctor...!
