I have thought about majoring within nursing, I haven't been to school in years.. and only just wondering if I have what it takes.. and if it's what I want to do??

over-worked and underpaid.
I similar to dealing with my co-workers and the patients, but the hospital politics suck.
As a nurse I worked in the emergency room of a big hospital in Canada. It be really stressful dealing with the number of patients each shift.
I liked mortal a nurse because it was never a dull moment, literally there are lots of areas to specialize in. And you gain to help people. What I dislike about nursing as a profession is, first rotten, time. You never have enough time to do everything that you want. You find yourself running short of time and only competent to give the most essential aspects of your care and health culture and not do everything you feel that you should. So, that’s the main drawback with nursing.
Another drawback near nursing, from a male perspective, is that you work in a largely female dominated profession. And, as a mannish, you really do have to fine-tune your communication skills.
If I could do it over again, it would be a NO. When I applied to medical school with a nursing scope I was 'looked down upon' for not having a BS in close to bio or chem.
PS: If you want first hand experience shadow a triage nurse for a shift, you'll find out quick if its for you or not.

Army nurse specialized in intensive trouble.
Best descision i ever made. i would do it all over again.
1. you will always have a mission. ALWAYS. and anywhere in the world you would want.
2. there are many copious different specialities and focuses so if you dont like one, you may like another type of nursing. some nurse specialities make more than MDs. CRNAs net 6 figures to start.
3. shift work. yes, i like it. there is a great deal to be said for being able to run errands or go shopping on say-so tues morning instead of the weekend with everyone else. nice to have 4 or mroe days off contained by a row and still make your hours. if you dont like hosp politics there are also bad shifts. all jobs have politics.
4. i resembling my patient population as an army nurse.
if you chose nursing, it's a great choice. but get a 4 year RN BSN. this way you own opportunity to move up and more options.
