Your ask is best answered as follows. If you did not use 100% of your brain you would not be asking or understanding most questions and if you ever spoke with someone who used, read aloud 50% of their brain (5 times the 10% value) you would think they were mentally retarded. We all use adjectives of our brain. Of the 200 billion or so brain cells, every one of them is doing something (polarizing, depolarizing, releasing neurotransmitter,etc.). Most brain cells I have eavesdrop on (single extracellular recording) show electrical activity about 3-5 times a second. There is no scientific evidence that we solely use 10% of our brains. I get this question every year from students. It ain't so.! Source(s): Forensic psychopharmacologist, taught neuropharm for 20 years, author of over 100 publications and several books.
Contrary to adjectives belief, humans DO in fact use 100% of their brain. There are many possible cause for the "10% Myth" but no scientific evidence of it. Each part of the human brain has a characteristic function that is important to our normal functioning.
