My doctor prescribed Amoxicillin pill to help out my cold/flu...?
I've been reading and it says that Amoxicillin doesn't help cold or flu....y did my doctor prescribe it, I tight i DON'T want to take 500 mg of Amoxicillin 3 times a day if it won't do anything, you know?

Cold and Flu are viruses and Amoxicillin would not give support to with that. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic which is ineffective for viruses.However there could be a lower infection caused by the viruses that the Amoxicillin could be used for. If he was only just doing it as a precaution then he sucks find another doctor.
