Directional terms-anatomy: peripheral/central?
I need to describe the kneecap in as many ways possible using directional expressions. Im a little confused on peripheral/central, proximal/distal, parietal/visceral, and superficial/deep in relations to the kneecap. please help! thanks(:
Answers:
The patella is located contained by the anterior midline at the junction between the distal femur and the proximal tibia/fibula. It is located subcutaneously.
Parietal/visceral would not be used, as that has to do with body cavity.
