I just this minute stopped taking an antidepressant?

I've been taking a tricyclic (nortryptiline) that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin to a lesser degree for headache. My headaches were getting worse, so my doctor upped my dose from 25-50mg. It's been going on for month or two, and I really don't like the side effects; I'm really good at math, but after I started taking it, it seems similar to I can't follow what other people are doing anymore or do problems in my head. It make me feel really stupid, so I decided to stop taking them yesterday. Today is just the first morning without them, and I got a headache today. Was it a coincidence? How long until the side effects go away? Is it super substantial that I go back to the doctor and get it changed vertebrae to 25mg, or can I wait until my next appointment?
