Can 1g (1000mg) of escitalopram be poisonous?
Answers:
Q: What are the effects of taking too much LEXAPRO? Can you overdose on LEXAPRO?
A: LEXAPRO (like most of the SSRI antidepressants) is, in general, not lethal even surrounded by large doses—although taking any medication over the prescribed amount is never a good idea.
For patients who enjoy taken "too much" LEXAPRO, alone or in combination with other drugs and/or alcohol, have experienced dizziness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, tremor, somnolence, sinus tachycardia, and convulsions. In more bloody cases, observed symptoms included amnesia, confusion, coma, hyperventilation, cyanosis, rhabdomyolysis, and ECG changes (including QTc prolongation, nodal rhythm, ventricular arrhythmia, and one possible case of torsades de pointes). For a list of side effects, see the LEXAPRO packet insert. Source(s): http://www.healthyplace.com/lexapro/pati…
Well my guess is yes. seeing as your only supposed to take 10-20mg daily. so taking 1000mg would probably be toxic
