okay i'm in the 11th grade and my career choice is nursing but i want to know is it possible to come right out of dignified school a CNA(certified nursing assistant) and how long does it take to become a RN( registered nurse)??

You can take pocket the class to be a CNA at age 16, but many facilities wont hire you until you're 18 (liability). I'm in a 2 year RN program at a community college. Overall, it take about 3 years to get this 2 year degree because of the prerequisites. Many four year school have RN to BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) programs that take between 1 and 2 years to complete. Source(s): Currently surrounded by Nursing school; also a CNA. In nonspecific a CNA course must be passed to be one. Some hospitals and many community colleges offer the course.
There are very few 3 year hospital school of nursing in recent years. Even if you attend and graduate from one, you must still pass state examination to be registered. Many nursing positions require a minimum of B.A. and preferably a B.S.
Probably your school's guidance counselor have much information about this.
I am an RN. But I have a bachelor's degree, which took me 4 years. A Bachelor's degee is what you want if you want to eventually attain into management in the nursing field. You can also become an RN surrounded by two years (this would be like getting an associates degree) if you do not get a bachelor's degee. I'm not sure about coming right out of large school a CNA.
