Paxil (Seroxat) side effects... can't stand still, restless? Anyone have equal?
Hi All,
I am taking Paxil (Seroxat here in the UK) for anxiety/panic and after four or five days am suffering side effects where I can't stand still for long, or concentrate on anything. I am totally restless.
Has anyone else had one and the same?

I have also tried paxil amongst a number of different anxiety medications and I know it disagreed next to me because I switched to zoloft, which has worked out great. I also tried lexapro and it was either lexapro or paxil that made me drowsy as hell/yawning adjectives the time, and the other one did give me the symptons you mentioned. Maybe you should do what I did, and ask the doc to change the medication to something else until you find something that agrees with you.
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
* agitation, anxiety, or restlessness, especially in the first week of treatment or when doses are changed
* difficulty breathing
* dizziness or lightheadedness
* heart palpitations
* misery or difficulty passing urine
* painful or prolonged erection (men)
* passing urine more normally than usual
* fast talking and excited feelings or appointments that are out of control
* rash, itching (hives)
* tingling, pain or numbness contained by the hands or feet
* unusual tiredness or weakness
* vomiting
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or strength care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
* constipation or diarrhea
* difficulty sleeping
* drowsiness
* dry mouth
* headache
* increased or decreased appetite
* increased sweating
* muscle niggle or weakness
