Cornrows and Traction Alopecia?
Hi,
I had cornrows some time ago.
I would have my hair cornrowed, rob the cornrows out, and re-done about every 2 weeks. I did this for about 2 months.
That was some time ago. I haven't have any symptoms of Traction Alopecia since, but..
Would this have made my hair weaker? So is it more likely that my curls will fall out when I'm say, 30, 40? Or am I ok?

Most likey if you have stopped getting your fleece braided and wearing it braided on a regular basis, then you will have no issues at adjectives. This condition is reversable if caught early enough, so if you have stopped beside the cornrows, or at least have made sure that when getting them they are done more loosely, then you will not enjoy any ill effects, especially if you do not notice any at this point.
Now if you continue to carry your hair braided, then you could be putting yourself at risk for such problems. You just enjoy to make sure that the braids are not too tight. I know that looser braids may not be as well recieved by everyone from an appearance standpoint, but it is safer and better on your scalp and hair. Source(s): Toxicologist
Had a fried who get this, and caught it early enough and it reversed (she does not get her curls braided anymore)
