Prozac is an antidepressant medication style medication explicitly not to be crushed nor open prior to taking?

What exactly happens if the drug Prozac is opened (capsule form) and taken orally or snorted. This have had me curious for years. There are tons of posters warning against doing it at work, but what exactly happens if one does vocally intake the powder inside the medication or snort it? I've heard hallucinations and I've also heard a soaring, much like smoking weed, but am curious as to what actually happens. Obviously it would mete out a major increase in seratonin, followed by a major dwindling, but since uneven levels are already present, I don't really think that is to say too dangerous. I'm just curious since so many warning and precautions are taken in the medical field to prevent such an occurance.
Please note, I work within the medical field, am not on Prozac and do not plan to do this, but am curious as to what actually happens.
