If Im taking a medication already, can side affects still go down if I increase the dose?

I've been taking a lot of medicine for my bipolar disorder, I be just recently informed I will no longer be taking lithium, and I will be increasing my depakote. Now I've been taking depakote for some time never have any harmful side effects, but If I start to take more could I get them?

Depakote makes you sensitive to the sun and may give you a skin over-hasty, probably more so with an increased dosage. I'd watch the sun. Wear a hat or sunscreen when you run outside. I have seizures and my meds make me allergic to the sun and I hold to watch getting over heated. It's not bad. Too hot to go outside contained by Texas anyway. :)
