How do you oral exam if the optic effrontery is still intact?
I'm doing a presentation on this for my anatomy class and I can't figure out the answer to this question. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!! :)

You can do a ocular field test. This is a specific way of conducting tests for visual defects and then localizing where on earth the lesion might be. If you do a search for visual field trialling, you will find a diagram which indicates how a physician can determine if the vision and hence optice nerves are intact and if there happens to be a deficit, it will explain how we can suppose where, specifically, the abnormality (assuming it's a single abnormality) exists. There are other physical tests to assess the optic nerve or look for specific lesion of the optic nerve. The fundoscopic exam is performed by ophthalmologists to closely examine the optic disc and cup.
The best imaging modality we have to look at the optic backbone in vivo is contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Source(s): http://www.rch.org.au/emplibrary/kidsinf…
If Pt able to speak: ask if he see bilaterally.
Pupillary reflex: (Constriction of iris in response to light) involves both oculomotor(3rd) nerve (motor component) & optic nerve (visual component).
Visual evoked potential can be done for accurate results.
