Fallen arches/flat foot?
Due to the $5 shoes my parents used to buy me as a kid, at a young age I developed flat feet. It really wasn't a problem, as I played tons of sports and never have foot discomfort. I still jog to this day. Maybe I'm an inch shorter and a bit slower because of the arches, but nothing enthusiasm altering.
But I have a friend who is in his 50s now and his arches are newly falling now and it's tremendously painful and he has to stay bad his feet for a few months, the doctor said.
Why the difference? My feet should never hurt, correct?

There is an informed belief that flat feet are a result of heredity and own nothing to do with foot wear. Many Northern Europeans, especially the Dutch, have a predispostion toward big, flat feet. I am one of those people. I had some arch when I be very young, but by about 12 years feeble my feet were completely flat. At 60 years old, beside my size 14 flat feet, I have always be, and am still very agile on my feet and I have never suffered foot problems.
Firstly, be grateful you actually had shoes, many didn't and still don't, see a pediatrist, you can carry supports that are made from like fibreglass stuff here in australia, my brother has like problem and he has inserts that he can just put in any shoes, they are moveable so you dont enjoy to buy a set for every pair of shoes you own, you just slip them in approaching odour eaters, they are great, hope this helps mate :)
Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
My mother within law had problems with her arches. All she have to do was get inserts for her shoes, then she could way of walking around like normal without much spasm.
Your friend can obtain doctor prescribed arch supports for his comfort. Who knows about different bodies. We are all different.
