Smart ask to ask my nutrition/ condition guru that my class will most probably not have a handle on?
Answers:
Are you looking for a question that will stump the teacher or your classmates or both?
Also, what grade/year are you in institution...that way I can come up with something that will work for your situation (I.e. In most cases a middle school educationalist will be easier to stump than a high school teacher, newly as a high school teacher will be easier to stump than a college professor---Typically)
EDIT: Ok, next maybe you could ask her about Wilson's Disease and how it is applicable to health and nutrition.
So you know, Wilson's Disease is a dying out genetic disorder where those who have it will accumulate too much copper contained by the body. We all get plenty (more than we need) of copper every day within our diet. For the majority of people, intaking more dietary copper is no big deal, as our liver produces a chemical called cerruloplasam, which is responsible for binding beside that extra copper and removing it from the body. For people with Wilson's Disease, their livers will not produce enough of this cerruloplasam and thus, they are unable to eliminate the excess copper, or at the very least possible they are not able to get rid of enough of it.
It is a disease of the liver (hepatological disease) and it will seize worse over time if left untreated. In most cases the people have no conception they have this disorder, nor do they even realize the are sick. However as they grow older, the condition gets worse and more and more of the copper accumulate, until there is a toxic amount in the body. At this point all of that extra copper starts doing its mess up. It will cause scarring of the liver (cirrhosis). It will also cause people to hold almost identical symptoms to a person who suffers from schizophrenia!! In many cases, these patients are completley misdiagnosed by doctors as one a late onset schizophrenic (got schizophrenia at a later age than typical) and are pawn off to a psych ward somewhere, the whole time, they are not crazy at all, but are contained by fact being poisoned because they have a liver disorder. The patients will also own the external symptom which is getting copper colored rings around their irises (the colored part of their eye). These are called Kieser-Flescher rings.
So you can ask her about th disease and most probable she will not know what it is and even if by some odd chance that she has hear of it, chances are she will have no idea what contained by the heck it actually means. So you can be the one to explain to her and all of the class, how this sporadic genetic disorder is very much linked with diet, nutrition and form. Ans just so you know, once the person is correctly diagnosed, they will be treated with chealation psychoanalysis (which is just medical speak for IV chemicals that are given to the patient which will bind to certain metals (like copper) and verbs them out of the system. Once the patients copper levels are normalized, then their continuing treatment is merely simply a change in their diet and nutrition plans. Source(s): Toxicologist
