How to do reconstitution?

My daughter is going to be taking an entrance exam for her school's nursing program before Thanksgiving. I would love to be able to help her study. On the site I found practice question like the one below :

Order: Ancef 500 mg
Available: Ancef 1 g
Directions: Reconstitute with 2.5 mL normal saline to abandon 3 mL worth a concentration of 330 mg/mL

Could someone please explain how I would solve that type of question ?

No, Bill, it doesn't help if you can't provide a formula to use the conversions on, jerk. Don't answer **** when you clearly hold no idea what you're talking about.

500 mg/ 1g x 3

take that answer (1500) and multiple it by your conversions (1/1000 for grams to mg)
1500/1000

1.5 mL

It helps if you know that in that are 1000 mg in a g and 100 mL in an L.
