Do I want to nick antibiotics at even intervals?

I had a wisdom teeth extraction surgery 3 days ago. I have an infection so im taking amoxicillin antibiotic to m¨ºl¨¦e it. The instructions say to take it 4 times a day. My parents insist that I should embezzle one every 6 hours so 4 tablets in 24 hours. So, as a result i have been wake up at 4am to take the antibiotic. My question is: Can I take the antibiotics at smaller amount rigid intervals?like before i go to sleep and after i rouse up. I think it would have the same effect as long as the period in between are not long. Thanks for the help.
Answers:
4 times a day (QID) and every 6 hours (q6h) are two different dosing instructions for like peas in a pod quantity of medication per 24 hours. Medications dosed QID are given 4 times a day during wakeful hours, ie. breakfast, lunch, supper and bedtime. Medications dosed q6h are given at regular intervals, in this defence every 6 hours, around the clock.

In your case, you would take them during the time that you are awake. No need to space them evenly around the clock. Source(s): Pharmacist
No. There's a judgment why the doctor wants you to take the anti-B 4 times each daylight until it's gone. It needs to stay at a concentrated level in your blood stream to be decisive.

If you've ever heard of MRSA; (Methacillin Resistant Staphillo-Areus), you'd have a good penetration of just how many people Don't purloin anti-B's the way they should.

Follow the RX directions. Source(s): In the medical profession.
